Well personally,Ive had really no issues with the car.
I have seen posts of guys having issues with the front arms but since they have released new/updated arms the issues seem to have gone away.

The only mod I have done is on the rear of the car. I noticed that dirt and clay would pack in between the toe brace and bumper. So I drilled out the bumper and used the long screws that hold the plate and diff housing together to hold the bumper on. No more dirt packing up there now.

But just about any part will break if you beat on it good enough. Front arms, rod and shock ends are what I believe to be the items that will break the most.

Mine has been a tank honestly. One broken front arm with a bent drive shaft because of it(land sideways enough and that will happen).
Broken front chassis brace(stock is or was plastic, dont know what it is with the 2.0).

As for upgrades. That is really a personal choice and sadly, one of the few sucky things with this hobby. Buy a part or two hoping it will help the car and find out it doesnt so now you have a part that you cant return or sell at full price to get your money back.
The only upgrades I have on my car are the front CNC brace and the 4+ chassis(which comes with the 2.0 now).
I do plan to get the new front center shaft only because I dont care for dogbones.

The 2.0 is pretty good out of box, get front end parts, that goes for any car.
extra wings a good idea, one tip, is to put set screw in mudgaurd/ radio box and remove radio tray as a complete assy. When you build the diffs replace the orings every time

If you have a GL, no need to get standard diffs or shocks, the big bores are better and the spider diffs are more durable. The GL is top of the line! You will see once you drive it

I never heard of broken drive shafts. Bent front drives yes. They would get a small bow in them. Some had it worse then others.

The front cvd drive axles, universals etc. They do bend once in while during hard crashes, hammer them back and keep an extra set just in case.
