Keith,

Nice track pics. May just have to road trip that one. It the surface dirt, clay, or combination of both?

Both... also some sand mixed in. I ran Crimes up front and Bowties in the rear on my 8ight. Crimes worked well for some, bowties for others, some guys were doing very well with holeshots. I think Mo was running holeshots. My buddy Connard had good luck with Losi Eclipses his last time down there. Soft stuff works well and wears fine.

Although I don't have any idea what you're talking about, I can tell you this: We're planning to have a track watering "crew" of TCRC members so this shouldn't be a concern.

Again, I'm not sure what you're getting at here and I'm not sure why you didn't mention your concern while I was at the track on Saturday. Nonetheless, we're going to have the computer to randomly set up the heats.

If you feel that you need to discuss further, feel free to give me a call.

Later-
Don.

well i'll make it short and to the point as other people were noticing this as well... it was kinda funny how your 5 fastest locals were all in the last heat race together and then come 3rd round after Mo set TQ the track was not watered and it was the best track conditions all day...

i did discuss this with someone from the track... i just know i wasn't the only one that noticed it and it is ashame how things were done b/c it is one of my favorite tracks but i did hear a few people talk of not coming back due to that reason...

-DC-

you can go back and look at the qualifiers and see what i'm talking about...

I'll give a little extra information in order to clarify for all those who have never raced at TCRC.

Our watering policy is pretty simple:
The turn marshals water the track between every heat until sunset. That's the way it was watered when the ORC came to town. We think it's the fairest and most reasonable way to make a good racing surface. The hobby as a whole relies on racer etiquette to throw a truck on its wheels after a crash. We believe in that etiquette and trust the racers be fair at marshaling as well as watering. It's a great system.

Our target is not an equal amount of water, but rather a consistent racing surface. So we normally have to water through the afternoon until the sun goes down. Then, the lights come on and moisture comes up from beneath the track - and the racing is awesome.

DC, all I have to say about this is that there was ABSOLUTELY no funny business going on. Now, I hope you've got it all out of your system and come down and just have a good time.
