Questions?? I got a Savage X 4.6 and want to swap in a K5.9 engine

I just bought a Savage X 4.6 and want to swap in the HPI K5.9 engine, I am new to this RC thing but it seems like it would be an easy bolt in swap. Am I fooling myself, the engine mount is the same part number for both engines, and the engine plates look the same for the Savage XL and the Savage X. The only difference I can see is that the Savage XL says it has a 3mm thick engine mouting plate and the "internet" (which conflicts with my owners manual) says that my purple annodized plate on my Savage X is only 2.5mm thick even though when I measure it it is atleast 3mm. If this is a bolt in swap would I need to get a thicker plate or would the "2.5mm" plate do the job handling the bigger engine? What else would I need, maybe a 3 speed transmission? Any help would be appreciated, thanks for your time reading this...
