Hyper 8 set up:

BBF110-7000-4000

One in from outside JQ tower. Outside on hyper 7 arm, with wide JQ arm holder.
Front link, upper hole on tower, outside on hub

Front kick up, Nr 2 with hole up
+ with hole down
2.5mm swaybar
Ackerman in middle hole
27 rideheight
9mm upper turnbuckle visible
19.5mm steering link turnbuckle visible

Rear shocks:
4 x 1.5mm, 55wt
Mugen Grey springs, medium lenght
outer on JQ tower
Inner on arm
Rear link in inner upper on tower (need to grind gearbox for clearance) Upper outer on hub.
Arm in lower hole on hub
Hub in the middle
3 antisquat

This is what you need Read on, the Russ Jones set-up tips is good reading. As far as the Hyper 8.5 to compete with losi 8, it sure can,
Robert Battlie made the Worlds A main with that car a couple years ago, tons of Losi 8s at that event

I would recommend Hitec servos... 105$ for 7955TG its a great servo can't say anything about their customer servo as I have never had to deal with it. Still using the same 5955TG from years ago.
