Its been a hot topic locally as one of the local shops usually carries Sidewinder and O'Donnell fuels. Could be intresting later in the summer for some that their shop only carries one or two fuels. Hope the shop owners can adjust and get some other fuels in.

How about nitro fuel prices around the world ?

Do you guys think the price of nitro fuel are increasing too ?

In my country, the price of O'Donnel 25% nitro is USD 41 / can.

Tornado fuel 16% nitro is USD 37 / can.

Had increased by 10% than it was in 2007.

No problem with 30% nitro supply in here in Indonesia.

Default only 100% nitro is in short supply

Angus didn't quit making the type of nitro we use in our cars only the 100% bad cojones stuff the drag racers use. Its all a big brew ha about the storage at the tracks. Nitro has the potential to cause a huge explosion and of course there is always the idiot in a skimask to take into consideration too. Angus couldn't get the powers that be to mandate permanent and safe storage facilities so they pulled out of producing the type of nitro the NHRA and IHRA uses. The max percent will be 55%. Angus is just saying they won't let others have the 100% pure stuff anymore. They will only sell it blended with something else to make the nitro content below 55% in the final product. Companies that are using chinese nitro in their fuel might be experiencing problems because there are some feedstock issues there. The companies that will experience problems are those who buy on the spot market and buy pure nitro instead of an already blended product from Angus. So I wouldn't worry about the supply of nitro for your vehicle.

I just picked up a gallon of Wildcat 15% fuel to try. Yes, it is a gallon not a quart. I got it at my lhs for only $13. Too bad they only have one gallon of 15%, the rest of 10% but they will be getting some more and i will definitely be stocking up.

Well, I'm going to stock pile four or five cases
of 30%. I think that 20 gallons should keep me
and my buds running for awile.

I will say that the shortage may or may not have a major effect on the supply of nitro fuel, but prices are already starting to go up at most hobby shops. Prices just went up 3.00 for 30% nitro at my local hobby because of increased shipping charges/hazmat fees...either way, the price will go up.

If you are running fuel that uses Chinese nitro you may have a problem. So this is the perfect time to switch to a good fuel. Byrons is having no problems getting nitro.

From the other forum.

"ANGUS will continue to be supportive on nitromethane sales into other key markets where the molecule is sold and used in de-sensitized levels. Nitromethane is used as a chemical intermediate in the manufacture of agricultural fumigants and pharmaceutical products. Hobby racing fuel for remote-controlled vehicles is also a key market; ANGUS fully supports the hobby racing fuels market for remote-controlled vehicles where formulations are sold at de-sensitized levels of 55 percent or less nitromethane."

I placed a order threw my local track fuel sponsor, for several cases of Bryon's 30 proof. (Have a few now)

He said a lot of the overseas stuff is not going to be available for a while.

Better be safe then sorry. And the cost will most likely be going up too....
