Lay down shocks don't indicate anything about performance at a glance. Notice the mounts that are used on the front arms? They change the geometry so that the "actual" leverage on the front shocks is more similar to a stand up shock.

A couple of cars that use a similar configuration: AE RC10gt2 and AE RC8, And to a lesser degree the Losi XXXnt (has risers on the rear arm/shock mounts) none of which suck on US style tracks. I think the RC8 is sitting 2nd qualifier at the US nats right now.

This car seems to lean more towards faster, smoother tracks but with some adjustments these concepts could work very well in the US too.

Do you think the diffs are Losi diffs. To me the look different. I mean, I know they made changes to use the larger bearings and all. IDK. I just figured Pamilio came up with their own mold and made new diffs.

That would be unlikely. Molding costs are pretty high, far to high to make molds for a prototype car. They would more likely use CNC aluminum for the prototype cases and only make molds if they were 100% sure that they were going into production.

It looks like they used front suspension arms on the rear .That would be cool having to only carry one type of arm for replacement time.

Ha ha! I hadn't even considered that! Good catch! I think the purpose of that was to get lower shock mount positions farther inboard.

If they were trying to make the 8ight look as ugly as possible, they did a damn good job of that.

And again, those hinge pin collars suck...
