Sleeve removal

Default Sleeve removal

Im taking apart my plus 21-5k and cant get the sleeve out. Can I bake it to expand hte metal? If so how hot? Thanks.

did you use the zip tie method?

I leave the flywheel on for a handhold and use the ziptie, fold it over and put it in the exhaust port, then rotate flywheel and it pushes out the sleeve. Never tried heating it, I think it would melt the ziptie.

Put a heat gun right on top of the sleeve for about 10-15 seconds. Then put the zip tie in and it comes out smooth as butter.

If the zip tie fails to do the trick, use the end of a tooth brush. Remove the back plate and bush the sleeve up with the end of the tooth brush, also heat it before trying to pop it out.

i always use the zip tie method.. i havent had one yet that wont come out
