I don't know what one would have a higher top end speed, but I've been running the V12 in my CRT.5, and its ballisticly fast. I never can get it to full throttle, it has to much power for it. It can easily keep up with 1:8 Buggies with good .21's, on the longer straits. And blow by the MT's during practice.

Every time I run it, people start laughing on how fast it can go...

Both motors have a very repectable power and rpm ranges but I have found the RB to be a hotter longer lasting motor. The OS doesn't have as strong of a bottom end so if you were to run it in a 4wd car I would hands down go with the RB and if I were running it in a 2wd truck I would go with the OS for its smoother low end delivery.

Good choice and if you send a motor in, I will give it a top end most motors dream of. I ran the stock Picco 7 port with a race port in mine and it had a topend as fast as my 1/8 scale cars and low end throttle response that was described by fellow racers as a shotgun blast but it always hooked up and never overpowered the track surface.

The R3 is far above the 5 port OS engine. What are you going to put it into? You'd want to make you don't have too much power for the vehicle otherwise it wouldn't be any fun driving.

An OS .12TZ 3 port is plenty fast in those mini things. Honestly I wouldn't spend $300 on an engine for a car that size especially when you can find other engines for half the price of the R3. Leave that RB motor for nitro sedans like a Mugen, Kyosho, Serpent, GS, etc. You can find the JLR EVO 3 for under $190 easily and it will put out way more power than you need - more than the OS TZ 5 port. Just remember you don't want to spin tires if you plan to race.

Hard to say, but it doesn't just depend on the engine. Fuel time is based on what pipe you use, how the motor is being ran (rich/lean), and how you drive. Longevity depends on how you treat the engine. Do you replace the conrod after 1.5gallons of hard racing or do you let it sit without any maintenance Both are great on fuel and have long life spans.

I would have to say the Picco JL red dot off road. I believe you are going to put this in a crt.5 and have seen them run and they Fly
You can also run the Picco JL tuned. this is a on-road motor but i dont see any harm being both the os and rb are on-road motors
And also for the price you can not go wrong.

Here is a link its the second motor this is the off road one

And here is a link for the tuned one
