I want to give li-po's a try in my buggy as i've now got a compatable charger.

My LHS has a 800mah 2 cell pack and i was wondering what kind of run times would a get from such a small capacity pack with a regulator?

Im going to say about 1 hour of run time .Depending on your servo's and how much they draw. I have a 1500 lipo rx that the manufacture says it will go 1 1/2 hours .I can get 15 minutes of practice and go three 5 min. heats and a 20min main no problem . I run 200 o.z servos witch can draw more than most.
