Default Possible Nitro Shortage this summer?

Has anyone heard about any possible nitro shortages this summer, especially around the Olympics time? China is apparently the only nitromethane producer in the world, and they are shutting down factories around the time of the Olympics, at least according to some articles I found on the Competition Plus Website (drag racing). Here is the link to our local racing website where we are discussing it...

Thoughts? Comments?

LOL. Yea, I love gt also. Mine doesn't get to see much action around here. Just a little practicing here and there. We'll have to use smaller engines to conserve the fuel. LOL. I don't think we'll have a shortage. But I better buy a case of fuel just in case.

So let's see if I've got this straight: the UN is warning of a global food "shortage." Wheat, rice and other basic food commodities are skyrocketing in price. There's been an ammunition shortage going for well over a year, but the thing you're seemingly freaked-out about is...

The price of fuel for your toy car?

Its all BS to keep the general public in a state of panic, because we all know people are stupid when they panic.
Dont bring up war and oil, most of the US oil import comes from canada not the middle east.

Gas truck rules but is dead sadly

I tell ya as club racer of 1/8 scale i really enjoy my buggies speed and corne 'n' ability that it has plus the tripples. It makes for more intensity for the driver then a scale smaller. plus more nitro for the nose

Angus will continue to sell nitromethane as a chemical intermediate, as well as for remote-controlled vehicles that use fuels containing 55% nitromethane.

straight from the link posted earlier in this thread.....

our rc cars use fuels containing 20-30% nitro methane... so are you trying to tell us that "yes, there WILL be a fuel shortage?" for us....

some competition airplane/heli guys around here use fuel with 30-50% nitro. not sure where they get it, but i've personally seen the sticker with the nitro content.it's been about 5 years ago so please don't ask me to remember the mfg. of the fuel. so i don't think there will be a shortage.
