K good, Its hard enough for me to get fuel, and fuel is the most expensive in the world here in BC.

I pay 38.00 x 1.05 = 39.90 for a gallon of fuel.. my LHS is actually now 3$ cheaper than before, exact same fuel, nitrotane 30%, wtf?

Yea Im curious about this too. Does this mean fuels with more then 55% or fuels with less then 55%.

I did a quick google search it seems top fuel dragsters use 90% nitromethane so im going to assume dow will still produce 55% and under nitromethane.

they probably will keep making it, the prices will be higher thats all that will happen. they wont quit making fuel if there are SOME people willing to pay 10$ a gallon for normal gas, and 100$ a gallon for rc fuel (which there are)

this scare is going to make everyone stock up real bad, then it will be hard to find fuel for a little while!

Thoughts? Comments?

That article is from 11-07. You think we would of had a shortage by now if there was one.

drag cars use a different type of fuel its not even close to what is used in r/c cars. you guys realize that right??? drag cars use nitro methynal not nitromethaine. nitro methynal has more alcohol in it. but im pretty sure that there are enough hobby shops that have fuel around to supply for the sport for sometime.

You're talking about Top Alcohol yes?

Top FUEL uses 10% Methanol and 90% Nitromethane.

There are several types of 'drag cars'.

http://www.dow.com/angus/

Lots to read..

im talking about this link right here. i have been in the racing scene for a long time and all the stuff that i have been working with uses a more alcohol then nitromethane.

I retract my old statement, many industry insiders are warning of nitro shortage and saying its allot worse than some might think.
Will be sad to see us going back to glow fuel
