some more goodies from Japan ;-)

Flanged ball's for the steering linkage (ackerman IFW417 & knuckle side IFW416), also hardend suspension shaft for the rear alu hub (IFW415).

My guess is its going to be very close to the $800.00 mark for the kit..

The TKI1 is more expensive than the 2 so the new kit will be much lower than that. It will be slightly above the SE while its still being made in Japan.

Nice pieces Matthijs! Are the hard ano suspension shafts mandatory to use for the rear alu hub or would the stock take the abuse too?

Also, how do you find the Orion Motor/ESC combo on your MP9e so far? What kind of temps do you see? Last but not least have you played around with ESC parameters on the Orion prgmng device?

just thought i would share this with you saw this on Tebo's car when he was over here in aus a couple of months ago. Notice how the battery is mounted at the front of the car next to the steering servo. This was also done on his truggy. pics below. What do you think the reason for this could be? is it worth doing it maybe pitpop can answer this?

I think the stock sups. shafts can take the abuse, I used the alu rearhub with no offset for 6 months now, no problems.

The Orion combo is awesome! Temps are fine, engine around 60/70 degrees (Celsius) depending on gearing. I'm using the 1950 kv with 15/46 gearing pretty much everywhere. I only once changed parameters with the device, I lowered the punch/acceleration to smoothe response out.

It handels the abuse and hits very well. On our tracks with astroturf and big jumps with no slope landings the chassis takes some big hits but the esc keeps working, that's nice to see with all the failing tekins in my area ;-). I did put some double sided tape with some gel between the esc and chassis. Kyosho part Z8006 http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ng-Gel-1-Sheet

Thanks for the review/feedback Mat.

I'm putting an order for an Orion combo. I've been experiencing nothing but issues with my Tekin T8 2050kv motor.

That extra thick/sticky kyosho heli stuff is the bomb! i'm using that too on my kyosho 8scale electrics. No need for zip ties and/or velcro and protects the esc from vibrations and hard impacts. An extra piece of mind for so little if you ask me!

Key,

If you have not sent your RX8 back to Tekin, you can do so and they will take care of you. There is an update for the RX8.

Based on a Yen to dollars conversion thanks to IPOD, he is what IPOD says the value is...

TKI 31782 SE 31783 TKI2 31785 (Kit) / TKI2 31784SpecA)
123,900 \ 84,000 \ 92,400 / \96,600
$1,343.00 $910.00 $1,001.00 $1,047.00

Please don't shoot the messanger, this was just an IPOD conversion of funds. I am assuming these are MSRP prices....

New kyosho rims have arrived. (part# KYOIFH004W or Y). Those are standard pieces on the TKI2. They are lighter, stronger and wider in diameter than AKA rims.

its the same reason everybody did it on the rc8b and rc8t, it just puts more weight on the front to get better steering.

looks good Key! On the rims, I mounted some AKA's on them, they fit just fine, much better than with the 'old' mp9 rim. Now if they only would release the Kanai Green version!
