Default engine troubles

my revo with a 3.3 is 2 years old with 2 gallons runs through it. when I fire
it up it stalls right away. every once in awhile it will run on its own for a short
duration until I give it throttle and it chokes itself out. is it flooding itself?
"too rich?". I'm stumped becauase I have gone back too factory settings
and tuned accordingly from there. I can't be that rich because it was
showing signs in the highspeed runs for a leaner mixture. I tried bumping up
the idle just for kicks.(eventually maxxed it out, fuel was puking out of the
exhaust when I gave it throttle) I'm hoping it's something i've missed.

It could be old fuel how long have you had it?

Do you put after run oil in you car when you done driving it?

If you donít put after run oil in it the motor it will gather moisture and cause it to rust and if that happens you should buy a new motor.

fuel should be good. i've run blue thunder, backyard basher and now traxxas
top fuel all at 20%. although it has been acting funny since i've introduced
it to top fuel. the glow plug is an LC3 hot and the starter shows a green
L.E.D. I pulled out the owners manual and checked for their signs of a lean burn. (clockwise to lean) it states that ; if you have "popping or clattering
sound when decelerating (detonation) " you are too lean. I'll get that while
I'm trying to turn it over once in awhile. Is that detonation?

To be honest the bottom end sounds really rich. I would lean the bottom once hour at a time and see what happens. Good luck.

I tried the traxxas plug (supposed to be the proper heat range), put some
other fuel in the tank (old fuel) and leaned out the low speed needle a
little. the high speed needle is 1/4 turn leaner than factory settings.
It looks like the fuel is having a hard time getting to the carb even with
a priming. hoses look like they're in good condition. I also bumped the engine
over with my finger on the flywheel. feels like it still takes a bit to roll it past
top dead centre.
