The most powerful is the ofna truggy box but it is bigger than I like to carry in my pit bag. The best starter box imo is the mugen starter box, not as much power as the truggy box but considering it is smaller and designed very well it gets my vote as the best one out.

If you want more power go away from the 12v battery. Run a 14.8 lipo that helps out a ton! And it makes your starter box wayyyyyy lighter. Trust me put a 14.8 lipo in it and you will be very happy.

i use the mugen. have used the purple one and got a new grey one last fall. turns over the toughest of engines. have had zero issues with it.

You can take the motor apart and clean the com ....

Will make it as good as new....

also check all your connections and replace your brushes if they are worn out ...

I have the ofna 10258 12volt giant motor starter box. I bought 6 years ago.
I race every weekend, I use it to break-in all my tight motors to include my
nova rossi .21-p5xs. I own four starter boxes and it's by far the strongest. It still has the original battery that will last for about a month of racing with no
charge. It has never let me down. I am about to buy the ofna 12volt chrome
top 10250 starter box. IMO ofna makes some of the best starter boxes. No belts or pullys to break!

p/s I'm not to crazy about their buggies though.

I have both the ofna truggy box and the chrome top. The chrome top is good but the truggy box is stonger, lighter and I think the peg system is better.

I actually have 2 truggy boxes one with lipo and one without. I only put the lipo in it because the lhs had a 14.8 3100mah cheap. You dont really need the lipo but its nice if you already have the charger.

after a year and a half, your battery is shot. Buy a new one and every so often charge it in the off season to keep the voltage up.

i've had good luck with single big motor starer boxes (as opposed to two 540s with belts and such) running on 2 sport stick packs

Thumbs up

I have the Ofna #10244 start box with the 2 HUGE 775 motors...
That thing could start a real car! The 12V gel cell is plenty in this beast!
From my experience its the best I have ever used...
