17mm hex's and Losi wheels

My 8-T wheels (losi brand, black) seem to have a little play in them from being about 18mm inside the wheel hex on the 17mm truck hex. I've been looking for a solution to snug them up and eliminate the play. I tried some HPI wheels and got the same result.

Any hints on eliminating the play in the hex?

I think thats just a problem inherent to Losi wheels.. I know a few people that have stripped the wheel causing the wheel nut to back off and get lost on the track.

I personally will only use pro-line, kyosho or Jconcepts wheels.

Thats exactly what happened to me with my black proline rims. Maybe mine was because the tires werent tightened properly

my losi wheel's feel pretty tight.....the new LPR's are Rediculously tight on the KH 1/2 off extender's when i run Zero off wheels...1 thing that could also be attributing to the slop ur feeling is the actual hex on the axel....is there any slop between it and the bearing ? Kyosho 8x10 shims in .01mm-.03mm shims will do the trick....just like the clutch bell U have to leave a Tick of play or the bearings will fail pretty fast.

The wheel hex as stated is about 18mm on a 17mm axle hex. To repeat this is also prevalent on my HPI wheels on the same axle hex. You can literally lay it in the wheel and move it slightly. The problem is this makes it impossible to set the toe in and camber since the wheel is moving around on the hex.

On both brands of new wheels I have produce the same result. It's annoying me to death. :deathstar

Thanks for the comments so far. :)
