It really depends on what tires are mounted, what body and wing is mounted, whether or not you have aluminum or plastic hinge-pin holders, as well as your battery size/type, the servos, and motor pipe combo. I know that doesn't give a specific answer, but it should at least put into perspective how much weight could vary from one sx8 to another. Obviously very few cars will have the exact same equipment installed.

Mine was weighed next to an MBX6 last year, and they weighed virtually the same number of grams. I did have a lipo pack at the time, whereas the MBX6 did not. However I also had full aluminum gear at the time, including the heavy-duty shock towers. This year I've picked up a few MBX6s with lipos installed, and they were featherlight. But if you research them you'll find that the mugen drivers are having to add weight to the chassis for better performance, and to pass tech at sanctioned events.

Keep in mind that the heaviest competitive car on the market actually won the Worlds. That proved that having the lightest car is indeed over-rated.

No it doesnt, because Haras car was far from stock, different chassis, loads of aluminium drivetrain parts, and other aluminium parts, titanium screws and turnbuckles etc. It was light.

Sure it was light JQ, but not as light as the cars Hara raced against. Unless you really think his car was the only one in the worlds with ti screws and proto parts.

Well guys we are moving along well I am spending allot of time on the new car and buggy I guess you guys thought I was still over there playing with flashlight cars huh.

We are going to be ready for motorama for sure and this will be the year we really make our presence felt on the national scene.

Also we are working on on something new with the fuel and it is going to change the game, added run time and better performance, dont worry same great stuff just better.

Luther I might be interested in coming to motorama, did you get my email!

Car sounds awesome. I know the 09 kit was dialed, couldn't ask for anything better in a kit. Sounds like the 2010 buggy will be even better.

The losi guys for example didnt run as many lightened parts as hara. For example they didnt run any aluminium drivetrain parts as far as i know.

Weight was probably close to the same for all finalists. Dont know about Tebos OD though.
