i am running to mugen clucthes with 1.1 springs and 1 carbon with 1.1 spring
i was running a ofna 13 tooth clucth bell and i just but a vented 13 tooth on it. and it is on my buggy the gearing is 13-46 and and it dosent matter if i am running on dirt or asphalt it does the same about 5-10 minutes into a run the front bearing locks up.and i have been racing for a while i just cant figure this out and it is driving me crazy:nod: |
and for bearing i have run avid and numerouse others on it still does it i was at the nitro fest last year and ever round of qualifying it did so i just but a different motor on there, but the motor is to fast just to keep put up.
If the bearings locking up...its getting hot...and u havent accomodated for the heat transfer and expansion of the bearings....what kind of end play are u leaving ?
that is what i tought to but i tried different widths it really puzzles me.

My buddy had that problem couple summers ago. Ended up being the engine needed new crank bearings.
Most common causes are: too tight a gear mesh, mesh not being square (motor cocked), worn crank (loose fit to inner race), worn engine bearings (mesh tolerance), worn clutch bell (where bearings fit loosely allowing side loading).
Check for the clutchbell slapping against the chassis too.
Inside bearing? If so check the shim for diameter size. If its bigger than the race its getting the shield hot.
I would look at the bearings in the motor and or the crank is warped. Those seem to me to be the most logical. My buddy also had this problem with his RB. Check out and good luck.
