If you ever can't find the stock settings on the needle and you work your way into a lean tune, just back the needles out until it is really rich again and just re tune from there. Factory settings usually don't help much, as every motor is different when it comes to tuning.

Exclamation

how many shims should this motor have in it stock mine seemed to measure like 0.29 of clearance is that right I took out .8 to make it .21 but now it seems to flame out almost soon as the igniter is removed (may run for 1/4 of a lap)
changed plugs 3 times no help

Stock shimming for 25% nitro is two 0.30mm aluminum shims with a 0.10mm copper shim in between. Add 0.10mm shim for 30% nitro as per the factory.

what are the ill effects of running a engine with a tighter head shimming?
by the way i believe flame out came from bad losi tank seal

If you are using 20% nitro, try an mc8 glow plug. The nova #6 plug that
comes with the engine is alittle too cold when using 20% even though
both plugs are medium rated. I use the mc8 and my engine runs great,it
idles for days.
