Default make a rc8 fuel tank stronger?

Anyone though of any good ways to improve the durability of the rc8 fuel tanks? I was thinking of wrapping it in duct tape...any thoughts?

I used shoe goo underneath where the filter bumps out, and also around the seams on the side.

I run a hot soldering iron over ANY seams on a tank before it even gets installed in the car.

can you ream out the mounting holes a bit to give it a little for "float" on the mounting screws? This would help if possible

They need to change the tank plastic material. Its too brittle. I wonder if the Mugen tank fits? I'll check one tonight as I have an old bad RC8 tank I threw in the trash bin last night. I'll go over it later on.

i always run a shock o ring underneath the tank where it meets the post.. that always seems to give it the float you speak of.

maybe do a fiberglass wrap around it?

I've seen boat guys lay a fiberglass/epoxy mix around the insides of their boat hulls.

just an idea. might be brittle.

There is a new white tank on the way. It will solve all of the tank breaking problems we've seen.

I will let everyone know on the RC8 thread when they're in.

Mugen tank is tough, I have one in both my buggies and its awesome... I wish it was more than 125cc though.

They only allow us to run 125 cc's in racing, thats why that is all there is.

Yeah I knew that, is there anything bigger than 125ccs?

"They" should just make the universal gas tank size for racing at 200 ccs
