what is the difference between the mbx5r and mbx5 prospec? a lil info would be helpful.... thanks

There are several... but the important ones are:

Taller shock towers and longer shocks (more droop and suspension travel.)
Different front hinge pin holder (slightly different front suspension geometry)
Different ackerman plate (significantly different steering geometry)

The suspension arms are slightly different but interchangeable.

Also note that the MBX5 Prospec has aluminum chassis braces, not sure about the MBX5R... but a lot of the Mugen guys were running the non-prospec front chassis brace for a little more flex, makes the front a little more planted so it steers better. (a little chassis flex can be a good thing.)

IF you had a Prospec, changing those parts listed would pretty much make the car behave like an R.

Thanks Guys!!!! i just bought a mbx5 porspec from our man bill merchant here on rctech about 2 days ago.. dont want to spend much to make it a R but, man looks kinda expensive!!!! Oh is the chassis really different!!!

If you change the shocks and towers, ackerman, and front hingepin holder you'll see a pretty significant difference in the car. Even just the hingepin holder and ackerman will give you the suspension geometry, just not the travel.
