Hey Andrew I belive there are a few pics of your TR in action. In the new Car action or the new Rc Driver cant remember which one, I like to see stuff like that. I really like my TR.

Andrew good job at the Novarossi Memorial race. Was you running the Matrix II or your car?

I love that the CVDs and outdrives are 60% lighter but I am disappointed to see dogbones. On TruggyRacers.com, there was a post by someone who is bending the new lightened center/rear aluminum dogbone. It is suspected to be due to chassis flex. I hope this is corrected before its realease.

I mentioned that about the chassis flex. I dont think its an issue if you dont do the buggy-style chassis conversion, or use the BCE chassis. Also, I dont think its an issue on the buggy w/ a shorter wheelbase.

That said... the new outdrives are steel, so they're going to be stronger than the current lightweight aluminum ones.

Also, I think it was mentioned earlier that the dogbones are only on the RTR.

Almost all the CEN factory drivers are using the BCE chassis so I would have thought some of them may have experienced the same 'flex causing bend' issue on the new driveshafts? The additional flex with the BCE chassis is also one of it's positive features. I want to be able to use the lightened shafts again but not keen on buying any more if they are going to bend like that.

Also I think the new kit will come with centre dog bones - i read that the RTR apparently also has dog bones between the rear hub and the rear diff i.e at the back.

just a quick update on this... it seems the general consensus is that the new ali drive shaft may be a tad too long for the BCE conversion as the extra length of the HB pinion shaft combined with the additional flex offered by the BCE chassis means there may not be enough play in the drive line. The solution would be to shave 2mm off the end of the pinion shaft and grind the rounded edges on the dogbone to give another 1-2mm. Also may pay to use a 0.2mm shim between the pinion gear and the inner bearing in the gear box. Note also that if you do not use the buggy ali dog bone on the front (MXS50) you will need to repeat this exercise on the MXS48 arena front dog bone and pinion shaft.
