From the research I have done it sounds like -

RC8 - fast out of the box (typical ae) but a bit fragile
8ight - fast after you dial it in - still can be a handful (typical losi) but strong
Hyper - decently fast, very stable, but not as agile, strong.
777 - old reliable, but expensive.

Seems like not much has changed

Thanks to all of you for your input!!
Except for one thing, the RC8 isn't fragile. I was at my local track yesterday messing around with my buddy that has the RC8.. The track was dusty because its been so windy so it was impossible to get traction. He wrecked that RC8 so many times I could have swore it broke at least 5 times.

Good luck with your decision
I myself just started racing Off-Road coming from On-Road. Im very aggressive on the track since Im driving my 777 WC just like my On-Road car & learning all I can tell you is extremely durable & fast as a well.

Leaning towards RC8 at the moment. If anyone has a roller in decent shape they want to sell.. let me know. Otherwise I'll buy a new one in a week or 2.

Have you checked the for sale forum on here, or posted something in the wanted forum?

It seems like there's always at least 2-3 RC8s for sale in there, and usually for under $400 for a complete roller and spares.

Yea I did.. there are none I saw on the first few pages. I'm sure it is just my luck.

I am watching a couple ebay auctions as well.

I'd almost rather buy used after seeing they come preassembled. If I bought new I would just be tearing the thing apart anyway to build it right.

Are you running the RC Pro Florida series? First race at Mills Pond in Fort Lauderdale.

You've got to dig through like the first 10 pages, the first 3 or 4 only cover the last hour or two of activity. It's nuts how fast things get shoved off the first page on that forum!

Here are a couple of options (I included a couple of non-RC8s just because the cars being sold are really good deals, and good cars in their own right):

http://rctech.net/forum/showthread.p...&highlight=rc8

http://rctech.net/forum/showthread.p...&highlight=rc8

http://rctech.net/forum/showthread.p...&highlight=rc8

http://rctech.net/forum/showthread.p...&highlight=rc8 (may be sold)

http://rctech.net/forum/showthread.p...&highlight=rc8

http://rctech.net/forum/showthread.php?t=217326

Good luck!

CEN Racing Has changed LargeOrangeFont. Especially, from when you were around. Apx 6-7 years ago.

P.S. You only worked at CEN for what....two months?

Take a look at the Matrix you'd be surprised. I dont think a 1/8th scale buggy was even on the radar when you were around.

Anyways hope all is well with you.

Whats up Andy. Hope all is well with you too.

And no, there was not even talk of a 1/8 car when I was there. The Matrix does look good, but my lack of intrest in the car is not due to CEN's product lineup. It looks like the brand has come a long way in a relatively short time, and that is something to be proud of.

Hope to catch you at the track soon.

I won a RC8 roller on ebay with (supposedly) 1.5-2 gallons through it. It comes with a new body, new wing, and a new set of wheels and tires.

$325 shipped.
