Default Go Tech 5 port Turbo or Jammin .21?

Well I'm needing to buy a affordable engine to race with this season. The Go Techs are really catching my eye and the price of a 5 port Turbo with a dynamite pipe is cheeper than the Jammin with a JP4. What do you guys think? What motor have you guys had better luck with?

Go GO!!!!!!!!
You will save money and have the same power.
I would go with the 3 port race though instead of the 5 port.

How soon are you wanting to get the engine, Amain should have a new batch of the Updated 5 ports, i have one in the shop and it is nice, the motor should have a smoother bottom now and if your track gets dry it should be ok, but if you like a linier engine the 3 port Race is great, both motors should do really good on that track, both motors are reliable, easy to tune and have great runtime, you don't need any big money pipes to run them either, i use a 086 dynamite on the 5 port and 3 port.

Oh, cool thanks.

LosiMadMan - I've been running the GO 5 port for over a year now and have been very happy with it. I think you would be happy with either of those choices, so if the GO fits your budget better then give it a shot. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Thanks guys Amain is now fully stocked with Go Tech engines now after being out of stock for 3 weeks or so. I'm going to get the 5 port turbo with the 086 pipe. What other glow plugs can I use in stead of the t97 in case my LHS doesn't have any?

I second the P3, and the 5 port, it's just crazy how good these motors run for their price. I run mine in a 1/8th scale dirt oval car. Ran this past weekend against a couple LRP .28's and other larger engines for our dirt oval state series. I never felt out horsepowered against any of them, a few of them were dead even, but that was it. Always runs cool too, which is great in my book, good luck with it. Oh yeah, I run a Dynamite 053 on mine

what does the different amount of ports do?

I have an ofna Jammin X1cr FTE and I will be racing this year. right now I have a .28 and I need a .21 and the Go-techs are looking like the answer to the happy median of power/price

Generally engine's with more ports have more top end power. This is not alway's the case but usually 3-5 ports have more bottom end than a 7 or 8 port. The Go 5 port has the most bottom end of their engines and maybe could be hard to drive for a novice in a buggy. The 3 port race spec is just a very smooth easy to drive motor but it is very fast also if that makes sense. The 7 port has more top end power for faster longer tracks.

Go-Tech, unless you like leaky front bearings and finiky carbs...then go Jammin.
