Yes great time racing and i didn't even race. Track looked fun and except for the turn marshall's that sleep during thier shift everything seemed great. I guess it's time to start saving up for next year.

Can't wait till next year
Yeah there was some serious sandbagging going on. When there's only one or two people in the Sportsman A main that didnt have a list of sponsors read off when there name was announced, something is definitely wrong.

I'm glad they did that for the sportsman drivers who are true sportsman.... in my opinion if you are good enough to have a sponsorship for anything, whether it be tires, engines, fuel, glow plugs, or anything..... you have no business in the sportsman class at any event. I consider myself a decent sportsman driver but due to only finishing one qualifier I got stuck in the c main where I finished third just shy from bumping up. Had a great time and my hat is off to those involved with the event, it was run very professionally and smoothly. Thanks to all involved.

Indeed there was some SERIOUS SANDBAGGIN' goin' on!!

Everyone knows who they are....and I can guarantee that it WILL NOT happen like that next year.

It takes a really worthless person to drop from pro to sportsman to try and rack up on prizes.

+1 thanks again for letting me use that radio. i just can't believe that their sponsers would let them get away with that. when someone does something like that it only hurts the little man who spends his hard earned money on their sponsers products. i sure wish i had a sponser list for those drivers so i'd know where to spend my money in the future. it just sucks this is my first year racing i qualifed 3rd in the b main at my first big event but because of the sand baggers i missed the a main. you think there is any way we could get a list of their sponsers. i think xray is one of them.

i think and im not sure here but im pretty sure that if you have a chassis sponsership i.e. you get an xray vehicle or a losi vehicle etc.etc. for a reduced price or free and you run in the sportsman then shame on you ....some people just feel the need to cheat and what not .....i can give you an example

last years psycho nitro blast i was a team driver for ocm in 8th scale buggy ...even though i was very fortunate to be a team driver i was by no means a pro driver ....but i sucked it up and ran in the pro class .....i gained absolutely nothing except a spot in the F main ....but as a team driver with a deal i felt obligated to run pro ....

in the SIC i ran sportsman truggy ....i have 2 sponsers ....maxamps batteries ...and thetoyz.com

both of which provide me nothing for 8th scale racing ...but i list them because its my obligation .....so all that being said ...you kinda have to check your comment about any sponsership at all ......

further i do know there was sandbagging going on ....once some drivers got to certain numbers of laps the would lay off or have a mysterious problem or something ....sucks that people have to do it ...but they probably always will .......

the race was awesome and should prove to be the premiere southern states race for many years to come thanks to all who made it possible .......

I spoke with a "Friend" of the winner of Sportsman Buggy (Tony Panteshall sp??) after the Amain , who is sponsored by Byrons Factory Team Driver. I asked why he ran sportmans and he said " cuz he wanted to win a trophy and prizes".

That is some low down stuff. Guy has no shame, cuz they were laughing about it. I'll be sure to let Byrons know I won't be buying there products. He asked when he got his Castor Buggy prize, where is the motor (donated by Pro Twister) and they said they were giving it to a true sportsman driver. Hilarious.

There was also a driver who was sponsored by Hot Boddies. I think there was only 2-3 non sponsored drivers in sportsman.

I hope these guys like their trophies and prizes. Cuz they lost their credibility and integrity. Classless!!!!!!!!

Since I was the only driver with a Xray to make the podium and I did Tq buggy let me say this in my defense so nobody gets it all mixed up. I am not sponsored bye xray. I don't have a tire, motor or radio deal. I do have a Fuel deal if that makes me pro and a sandbagger then give me the bags I will fill them up. O and a bearing deal. I run sportsman in the pro series in the south look where I am in the points.(matthew sistrunk).

And Bill Shepherd who finished 2nd in buggy and 3rd in truggy has no sponsors at all.

Dang forgot one Viagra!!! lol great job Bill. 50 years old laying it down.

Matthew Sistrunk tthat makes u look bad and everyone should send a email to all your sponsors and let them know if this keeps up we will not be buying thier product! i was their and that was no sprotsman class but another was for pro driver and sponserd drivers to win prizes! That takes away from the sprot and the novices drivers!!!

+1 Total agree! If you have a deal with anyone u should not be allowed to run in sportsman! look at the rules at alot of the major races they say if you have or ever had anytype of sponsor u will not run sportsman u have to run PRO!
