Default DS8717 JR servo

I have a couple of these lying around from my heli's and was wondering if I could use it on the steering of my 8ight buggy. I don't know if the surface servos have better seals or are they the same with a different number and shorter leads?
Thanks

I think the main difference with the DS8717's is the zero dead band. I'm not sure if that's gonna help or hinder in a steering application.
