With a little modding I bet one of these would run as strong as a 3 port race spec!

I wouldn't want any more So far I have run at length with a few sportwerks .21's and a werks B3. Im pretty much even with them on the straights or pulling. and mind you, I'm not running a race tune and am using an 8mm reducer.

The hype for these engines is all true.

I'm going to compare the sport to the race 3 port next week just measuring the sleeves to see if the timing is the same. I'm thinking that by modding the motor it will smooth out the power on the bottom and give it more on the top.

The 3 port R has a more linear powerband making it easier to drive. The 3 port sport has a ton of low end great for tight tracks, but is a lot harder to control. The 5 port is kind of the middle of those two its the one I got.

the 3 port sport is stupid when modded with turbo head and race carb. Ther race carb helps some in keeping it under control, i didn't go that far on timming before i saw it would become a light switch, i don't mod my motors to have that feel, but modded yes they are a freakin blast

UPDATE: I finally set it to a race tune today with temps in-between 227 - 230. Traction off the bottom is still an issue even with the V-spec reducer. I took off the stock losi clutch and installed my Fioroni 3-shoe adjustable so i'll see if that helps. (Just wanted to see how the kit clutch performed)

So what are safe temps to run these things at? I usually don't go over 230 with my engines but this thing isn't happy when I back it off even an hour.

240-250 is around what i run on all my modded GO's stock also, just run it where you and the engine feel right, if you want more runtime don't be afraid to go higher on temps, and if you can find a NR 6 or 6.5 in sert that will help on the bottom end and boost runtime some
