Default Better Servo: JR 9000/9100T or HT 5955TG

Just curious as to your opinion on which would be a better steering servo for my Turmoil Pro, the JR 9000 or 9100T OR the Hitec 5955TG. Why?

Thanks,
Blake

Thumbs up

I know it's not on your list but I have started using the Futaba S9351 and love them. Ace servos are great as well.

Hitec 5955TG all the way, If you can afford this servo you shouldn't have to worry about a warranty.

Cheese, I have the Airtronics in my buggy as well. Just not enough time on em yet to comment. I had a rockkrusher fail on me and cannot get parts for it anywhere. The 94361. Now I have the 357 and 358.

i run the 358 for throttle and brake my servo setup goes as folows

steering/brake
main buggy 9000s/94358
backup buggy 94358/94358
truggy 9000t/9000t

in the buggy i like the really fast steering but in the truggy i like the torque. ibe only gone through 1 jr servo and that was the 9000s when i had it on throttle and brake. jr replaced it free of charge. the only other servos ive gone through are hitec. my opinion those things are garbage i either blow them or they get jittery and glitch terribly.

I have all top of the line servos with maximum torque rating, JR, KO, SANWA, HITEC. They are still working. However, If you want the best, choose the most expensive servo : JR ( it must be the best becoz it's 31kg of torque ).

What about the JR DS8711??? 403 ounces of torque .15 speed AND 3 year warranty!!!! For about the same price as the Hitec 5955. Not saying anything bad about hitec servos, I have one myself.

We will see who wins the customer service battle, because I just burned up a JR servo and my roommate just toasted a hitec. Lets see who can get the servo repaired and shipped back the quickest and whose service is the best!

I have used both and prefer the JR 9000 series. They just feel better to me. I will say that hitec customer service is the best...when I first started off with a revo, I burned up about 4-5 hitec servos and they replaced every single one of them for free (they even had a note on one of them saying something to the effect that the servo had been underwater, but they would cover it this time!). You cannot beat their customer service. I do not know about JR (as I have not burned one out yet (more then 10 gallons on a 9000S and a 9000T so far). Really, you cannot go wrong with either one...
