Center diff is smack dab on the centerline of the chassis or pretty damn close to it, so regardless of the tilted engine, this should and probably will handle just like the car before it. And most of the mass in an engine is down low, so there really is no difference other than the engine is tilted.

After running a Lousi for a year I can say that the steering linkage looks like it might be tough to keep tight and the front arms look awful thin after the outer hinge pin location ? Tilting the engine like that I believe raises the mass a touch but centers it a bit more ?? So which of the 2 evils are better?

That's a nonsensical question by virtue of the fact that "BOB" is itself an unknown quantity at this point in time. We'd kinda have to wait until both cars are commercially available to even begin to compare their performance.

Seeing how the 808 will be breaking alot of drive shafts, I don't think any car will have a problem keeping up.

I don't like the wire steering rack at all.

And how would that hurt anything? I think I have had about everything on one of mine and no damage yet. They did a good job of sealing it up.

Read "40 tooth spur" You work it out! Also the higher the mass, the more effect it has so leaning the engine over actually has a huge effect!

LosiMadMan, The wire is hard spring steel, Lighter than a plate and if it does bend it will just pop back to normal again!

DPowers, Dont you think that the production buggie would have a splash guard?

xsxracing, Only the engine is on a slant!

mremtr, Judging by the size of the flywheel they have keept the engine low by milling the chassis!

Oh crap I'm sorry what happend to Sartel's Super Hudy Steel CVD drive shaft in the Neo08 race??

Who was 1st and 2nd in that race also?

Just a short quiz....

Not alot just some??

Don't start talking like the 808 is the best thing since sliced bread until it starts winning and proves it's self.
Don't get me wrong I'm sure it will be a great buggy, but those drive shafts at that angle are going to break plain and simple.

"Tilting the engine like that I believe raises the mass a touch but centers it a bit more ?? So which of the 2 evils are better?"

it doesn't raise the mass ....the engine is the most heavy part on the buggys
it's obvious that tilting the engine, puts the CG lower
just look at the picture
the head is lower, the all engine body too
just a few light weight fins could reach higher when not milled off..
