How does it run backward? nitro engines are timed (crank porting) to run in 1 direction

Have you recently serviced the diffs? If so, they may be in backwards. Is starter box spinning the engine counter clockwise?

Just reverse the way you have the starterbox positive and negative wires on the battery.

If your standing at the end of the starter box
that the back of your car sets on and run the starter
box motor. The starter box wheel should be turning
counter-clockwise. If not, then switch the battery
or motor wires, which ever is easier.

Yup!! As said, check out if the starter box turns in the right direction (if you're not sure, test your car with another starter box, or the box with another car).

It could also be the front and rear diffs are in backwards. When you install them, the teeth should be on the left as you look at the front diff from the front and same as you look at the rear of the car for the rear diff.

Hope it helps....

As Dr Z said if you truggy is running backwards then your diffs are in wrong. When I put my pro kit together i noticed they could go in either way and its really easy to pull them out and turn them around.

Hyper ST? Check your front and rear diff, the crown gear suppose to be at left side.
