Default engine break in

I got a Adam Drake Platinum Draked version .21 and it say to break it in buy holding it wide open for 5 tanks!It says richen 3 full turns and holder open!Sounds kinda crazy!

has anyone ever used thje drill method!

sound like Cyrul method,

taka a look at the forum, you will find alot of info on how to run in an engine. Choose one ad stay with it.

the insructions are real disappointing on these motors!This is my first high end motor!Wish i would have went RB!

I did the wide open method and it works pretty well,just don't go wide open work your way up while richening so when it is wide open its so rich it can't rev too high the idea is to use fuel to cool it in between cycles its best to have someone to help.

i have done serveral break in methods and holding wide open really rich works the best for me and other racers i know the engine is so rich the tires barley move

The only thing that bothers me about that is the temps.

Does the engine get up to the 200f+ range and do you do all 5 of those tanks on the box and after that the engine is run in

heat cycle the engine 2 times then do the throttle up method , heat cycling is the trick at least 220 degrees F as soon as you can get it there while running . best results are varying throttle and running the car on the ground , dont let the engine really hit the powerband

i have used this method for years! RB uses it to break in their engines. you have to use a heat gun to keep the temps up while you are running it wide open that rich. this method equals nice high temps with a heat gun about 240 while running the engine with max oil and fuel!
