Your work looks great and thanks for giving me a pro's point of view on the paint job! I had another one of his bodies, Mugen, and it was flawless.

You are right about the detail and it taking time, hence the reason I paid someone to do it...I can paint basic stuff but it looks like a novice did it,but that's ok cuz I enjoy doing it. So understand that I realize how much time goes into the work. My whole reason for starting this thread was to let others give me their thoughts on the quality of the work and if that was on par with the cost I paid, it obviously is not! He contacted me last night, finally, and he is pissed for he calls bashing his work. I simply put it to the people and they have spoken, that quality of work will not be tolerated. Now he wants me to send him back the bodies, fair enough, prior to him commencing work on the new bodies...WTF!

If nothing else I hope this post gets his attention and brings him back into focus. As you can see from his website he does some pretty stellar work and is certainly on par with some of the other custom designers I've seen. Again, thanks for your "perspective" and thoughts on this matter!

So if this is a $70.00 combo then that's a deal beacause a body is what about $25.00 , me being a painter also can feel for this guy when you have one thing on top of another on top of another. So when you get a hold of him let him understand that your paintjob could have been a lil tighteron the work and minus the logo.

that's my $75.00 job with body

I can see you wanted a perspective on the job and I can't blame you for what you have seen on his site and then get something that was not to your liking or wasn't what was expected on the amount of work, you forum was NOT about bashing the paint just your thoughts after no return calls and e-mails it feels like your left in the middle of the desert with no gas, I would be bent to. Hopefully you get your work correct and bring back a new paintjob that he's willing to make you feel proud about and say good thing about his services.

Default Update!

To everyone that lent their voices to this thread, thank you! I have been in touch with my painter and he is stepping up to the plate and replacing the bodies with the quality of work that I believe he is capable of producing.

I will update this thread again once the new bodies arrive...thanks again!

Sweet looking body...for the time being I am stuck until this guy finishes my bodies. Lesson learned is all I have to say about this experience!

$70 for a simple clean job sounds about right, thats around what this cost me in the picture below - including body shell. If your not put off getting a custom shell it's well worth giving this guy a shout. Very easy to deal with and this was a super clean job, it looks even better in the flesh. His other stuff is out of this world at times, he comes highly reccomended. He also has a big reputation and wouldn't let something sub par go out to someone.

lmfao, you and your "e.honda level" car hahahahaha

He is working on them right now...I will update you all when I receive them. Suffice it to say, after looking at some of the paint jobs I've seen in this thread, and the prices paid, my expectations are quite high!

To all who chimed in on this issue, my new bodies are in transit, so I will post updated pics. when they arrive. My expectations are quite high at this point, especially after seeing the work that is out there for similar money.

I will have to give him props for stepping up and making things right, now it's a matter of how right did he make it!

Stay tuned,
RCJ

as someone who also pains i have to say it is near impossiable to please everyone. WHat you see in your body is normall. However it seems he applied the backing for the crome to thick and didnt pull the mask arround it carefully enought and it peeled the way it did. Also there are a few more "bleed" spots on the body than i would xpect to see when paying for a job.

Definatly not horiable work, but also not good work. If he didn't put the skulls in the paint then that is something he has to fix to make things right.
