Is the stock MBX5 kit still in production?
Not talking about the "R" or Prospec but the original MBX5. I see A main has these for sale but no one else advertises this kit? Are these possibly left over kits they are liquidating or can other hobby shops still get these?
I'm heavily leaning towards this kit for $320 Love the R but don't want to pay almost double for my first season of club racing.
Thanks again guys.

The MBX5 and MBX5 Prospec are the same basic car, the Prospec has strength upgrades (thicker shock towers, CNC chassis braces, CNC alloy rear hubs and a one piece engine mount).
The MBX5R uses the same chassis (engine and radio locations) but has upgraded, longer shocks and revised shock towers and front arms to allow more travel and has all the Prospec level aluminum parts. Otherwise, the R is still very similar the the original MBX5.

The R chassis is milled out in the front to allow for more droop that the shocks offer. The un R chassis can be easily modded to match it.

Alot of people with R's actually runt the original MBX5 plastic rear hubs and pivot ball type chassis braces that should say something.

The MBX5 ProsPec and newer MBX5R kits also have more tuning options with the front kickup blocks (comes with a 0 block) and rear toe-in plates (comes with 2.25, 2.75 and the three -1 anti-squat toe-in blocks). The old MBX5 standard buggy kits may have the old front lower arms and front uprights. You can mod them for the extra steering or just replace with newer 5R parts. It does come with the old turnbuckle style chassis braces (which I run on my car) and the old servo-saver (which some like better than the new inverted one). The new 5R steering links are 4mm and well worth the upgrade over the old 3mm units. It also comes with the old brake linkage kit. You can get the 5R unit or just use a longer 2x12mm cap head and a plastic shim to raise the upper brake linkage so it is parallel with the bottom linkage.
If you or anyone else decides to get the old MBX5 kit, I have a set of Titanium tunrbuckles for it (standard kit comes with heavier steel units) plus a bunch of the old shock parts (rebuild kits, spare shafts, etc) I'm selling cheap if you want to carry some spares. I also have the optional white spring sets for the old shorter shocks.
Best regards,
