i have had one bo1 and i'm on my third bo1a. very pleased with grp engines so far! holds a tune very well, easy to tune. i can get 10:50 on a tank running under 260*f with a nice stream of smoke! i run on a small track, but thats the best mileage i have had out of a .21, by far. i consistantly break 10:30 with a "safe" tune. these times are also from a bone stock engine!

I don't think the Team GRP drivers were running
stock, out of the box motors. So, lets have a modders
contest. What modder can get the most out of the
.21 and .28 GRP motors? Grindfest '08,be there!

With one weekend of testing I increased runtime on a 7 port by 1:30 minutes in vegas over stock.... just takes some knowledgable tuning, nothing special.... I doubt an out of the box 'any' motor would make the 11+ minutes you have to run in vegas to go without a pit.

There's dozens of variables that play into the runtime external of the engine...driver has a ton to do with it

I've got well over 10 mins on a 50+sec/lap open tracks all over the country with my Vspec...and thats at a good tune, not leaning it to meltdown. There's no 'miracle' engine, never has been, never will be. Practice tuning with a bit leaner bottom than most, a low idle and you'll find your not at WOT nearly as much as running a rich bottom / lean top like most everyone runs.

did i say one word about grp engines being the only engines that this was done to maximo ? holy smokes man , why so defensive ? more of a statement about how they tune their engines in the super fast guy level .

So far, I have tuned an O.S. Speed .21 AL to 12 minutes of run time. I was surprised to get that time. When the car came in, I flipped the car upside down and no fuel in the tank. It shut off a few seconds afterwards. Temps was about 223F. This was at the Hurricane Raceway track. The same one used for the J Concepts RC Clash race.

What do you guys think. I plan on buying one for my next motor.
Matt, I was under the impression that the new GRP line was going to be similar internally to the MR Ninja line but have a few extras that the mario rossi tuned versions had. Otherwise it's a pretty good price increase going from the Ninja for $280 to $420 for the GRP mill just because there name is on it. I'll most likely be picking one of these up this race season at some point.

I'm sure he was thinking of something else when he said $420.

Driver finesse... drivetrain efficiency, tuning ability, weight, tyre footprint, weight transfer under acceleration, aerodynamics, enginge age, fuel type and of course type of engine and colour of G string.

Every little factor adds up in fuel effeciency. Same as the set up doesn't make the driver and a good set up with a bad driver isn't going to go places either i guess.

If i was in the market and had the cash to flash i would be curious to run a GRP next to the new RB which looks pretty sweet.
