I have a 2 gallon old rb 3 port and it will run good for a couple laps then lean out or richen up.....i noticed a lot of fuel aroudn the carb and below the carb on the crankcase, i put racers edge carb sealant and it stilled had fuel all over it, maybe the front bearing?? i took the clutch off and flywheel and the bearing looked ok and the seal was still there. Could it be leaking out of the rubber boot??? i am lost here

Hard to say. Do you have any pics of the engine with the fuel on the outside? Have you owned this engine since new or got it used?

first check your fuel lines , could be the carb lock screw seal , could be the front bearing . front bearing would be the most likely if you are seeing massive amounts of oil under the engine . also check your tank , could be broke !!!

Make sure your high speed needle housing is tight. They seem come loose on the Mach 427s, but haven't seen it on any RB. The one thing we did figure out, was that it takes FOREVER to break one in...

My brother had the same problem with his motor and I took the carb boot off and stretched it out and RTV'd. Then I sealed the backplate and all was well. Either replace the boot or seal it then you should be ok.

i have had the engine since it was new.......i am going to take the boot off and try sealing it, see what that does, if that doesn't fix it i guess it is the front bearing. thanks guys
