Understeer on a XRAY XB8.. HOw to fix it?

Hey guys.

Im helping setup my younger cousins XB8. It has a ton of under steer. It keeps pushing.

What options do I have to correct understeer with this buggy?

1.5 toe out

Thank you

Thank you very much for the setup? What kind of track were you running this setup at? I am at a Clay indoor track.

Thank you

Thank you

Getting the right Xray setup will take some work as they do not like to turn like a Losi or an RC8, but with some work you can get it turning on par with those guys. You will want to look at the steering mod job that Bren Ralls posted on the team xray forums.

Xray's dont have as much throw as the other buggies so the knuckles strike the arms and cvd limiting the steering throw, eg. producing a good bit of understeer. I made the steering modification and immediately noticed a huge difference in the turning radius of the buggy. The biggest difference came when I re-geared my buggy using the truggy crown and pinion gears (43/10 vs. 40/12) also I went to a 44/16 on the Spur Gear and Clutch bell. For a reference look at Ryan Lopez's setup on the team xray forum.

I am starting my third gallon of fuel on my EC and with the changes I've just listed, plus running Lopez's setup, I've TQ'ed and one my last two races. These changes made a night and day difference in the handling of my EC. Good luck!
