Default Does any company make a heavy duty Ignitor?

Seems I got through a couple ignitors a season. At some point they just don't work.

I check the contacts and the like but no-go...

These are the ones that just about everyone sells, they have the little meter on top, use replaceable sub-c cells, sells for around 20-30 bucks....

I want something thats reliable and durable. I don't care if it costs me 60-70 bucks, I just want something that WORKS!

Anybody have one like that?

Make sure you get the big fat one with the 5000mah D-size battery. I've been using the same one now for over two years. It's the bomb! I just wish they would make it with a longer shaft like the sub-c sized one. It doesn't reach down far enough on my MBX5T body and I either have to start my truggy with the body off, or push down so hard it smooshes the body.

The only thing that sucks about the hot-shot is it need a meter or at least a indicator light so you know if your plug is good. I use a Team Magic, it comes with a GP4300 sub-c cell.

Hot shot 2 is a very reliable ignitor, and the battery is replaceable, the only way i found out is my savage decided to flip over whille i still had it connected and it "broke" the battery off the top of it. There is a setscrew that grounds the outter portion of the cell to the ignitor. If you want to replace the battery you just need to remove about 3/8" of the covering from the lower portion of the cell and presto you have a new cell in your hotshot.
