Default EB MODS V SPEC ANYINE HAVE ONE ? JUST GOT FROM A MAIN CANT TELL IF SLEEVE HAS BEEN

I just got a std vspec blue head from a main hobbies for a friend. it stated it was std v-spec modded by eb mods and had a ceramic main bearing in.There has been crank work, but the sleeve doesnt have any grinding marks on the out side of it. the work looks awesome on the crank and the back plate. but im sure the main bearing is not ceramic, the balls are shinny not a grey color like the other ceramic bearings im used too seeing. I can't get a hold of eb mods, tried email and the phone # doesnt work. not bashing the work, just want to get to the bottom of this so i can finish breaking this in for my friend. Mabe all that was foregot was the bearing any help appreciated

EB mods does one noticable mod to the sleeve. look at the front power port. Below the port there is a large flat spot rather than the rounded...

The shop phone is out, just send him a email, or call amain, if they are showing on there discription of an EB OS that it has a rear ceramic, then you really need to speak with them also if yours doesn't have it.

IMO if Amain sold you the engine they need to take care of this for you. Then they can take it up with EB themselves.

Amain doesnt warranty the products. This is not their mess up or issue.
As far as getting ahold of EB..... good luck.

This is the fourth EB modded motor with problems
right out of the box that I have heard about in the
last two months. The worst was a truggy racer from
Pa. that found that the sleeve had been installed
backwards. The alignment pin and the lip of the
sleeve where hammered. He sent it back to AMains
and when he got it back someone had went crazy
with a dremel tool on the block and sleeve trying
to repair the screw up. It looked like hell. They
had to take it back and replace the motor.
After hearing about screw ups like that, I don't
trust spending my money on an EB modded motor.

According to A-Main's site about 369.99 plus shipping (if any). I had one and liked it, ran just as good as a speed I had and was easy to keep a tune on. I pulled it apart when I got it and there didn't seem to be much done on the inside, but what ever was done it worked. Hopefully someone can get you taken care of and make it right for you.

Keith,

I spoke to Ed Bridges from EB Mods this afternoon and mentioned your thread here. He said he received your email and was going to get in touch with you. The phone at his shop was disconnected and he lost internet access there. If the motor is missing the rear ceramic TKO bearing, he will take care of it.

I'm sure it is indeed an EB Mod V-Spec, but to be 100% sure, please take a picture of the left and right side of the case and post it here.

Best of luck,
