Default Just picked up the ofna truggy starter box

Anybody have a suggestion for a good battery setup for it. I dont want to li-poly yet so thats out. WHat do you guys think? I run 2 3600's right now in my other box and they work okay but don't last real long.

I've heard that stick packs will put out more power but gel cels last longer.

it weighs more but I but I use 12volt on my truggy start and drill some holes to make a charging post for the 12volt so I don't have to get into the box to charge it, just plug the banana plugs to the side of the box and whala!!!

Im using that starter box with 2 x 7.2 - 3.000mah batts, not a single problem. With the gel 12v batt i had problems not having enough power for .28 engines.

weird...people not having enough power with the 12v gel batt in the starter box. I've got the ofna chrome top starter box with a 12v gell setup, and it'll crank up my axial .32 in a heartbeat.....

The Ofna chrome top box has a 12V motor that is made for a gel cell. The Ofna truggy box has two 750 can motors. If you don't want to do the LiPo cell (which I highly recommend) then two 7-cell packs should make it rip and it'll last longer. You just have to figure out how to get them in there.

Actually they are dual 775 motors and I did not have any problems starting a fresh JPX28 with a 12v in it. Awesome box for my truggy when I had it!

Sorry, I typo'd the motor size. The 12V gel cell "may" work with some motors....BUT, the box was designed to run on 14.4volts.

Best regards,

I run 12V AGM or (gell cell) batteries in both of my H/T boxes (1/8 & 1/10) and they are heavy but have alot of power and stay charged for a long long time, I am very happy with the 12 volters and they are cheap and easy to charge with a motorcycle 1 amp charger.
