hwen calling coustmer service it depends who you get. I had a buddy send in a vspec after one gallon that lost all pinch and they replaced the piston and sleve no questions. Should have sent it in and they would have known it was a manufacture defect if there was no fuel threw the motor.

There was fuel through it, as I had no way of knowing at the time of install that it was cracked. I tried on several occasions to get it started and running, and it wasn't until I gave up, that I sent it out for testing. Once determined that it had a leaky front bearing and a cracked case was when i tried getting service from OS, and when they blew me off. So I had to buy another case, and new bearings, and I rebuilt it. I know this kind of stuff happens with all engines from time to time. I got a Jammin that had an ovaled LSN housing, and when I tightened down the ball link collar it would seize up the housing, making the needle impossible to turn, but I sent it back to Ofna, and they sent me a new one. I was just really pissed how ignorant OS was, and the way they treated me, they not only weren't helpful, but they were also nasty about it. I am over it now, as it has been a couple of months, and the V-spec is working fine now, but it was a lesson well learned, and just my own personal boycott of OS. I know many people love this engine, and all OS products in general, just turns out I got the one lemon in a thousand.

Send it in I sent a SPEED MOTOR IN and they sent me a new one and told me they would not replace it again. I also sent in a local guys motor with a crack in the case they sent him a new one.

After I called them and they told me not to I didn't want to take the chance

happened to me , too my most reliable/ smoothes engine i've had ..and i'm debating on spending $100-150 to replace the case and bearings...it has (3) gallons on it tops... i'm thinking of the NINJA jx .21 ... it's OS based with a better block

the v-spec's have no warentee it says so in the manual so for getting mad at them for telling you that is nonsence. If the case cracked it probley had something to do with the motormounts being too close to the case and a hard landing. The os motors are very strong and run good. there is a reason they have won the worlds soo many times.
Ummm, in order to get the manual you have to buy one, just to find out there is no warranty, so I do not think it is nonsense at all, I would get mad there and then. To then find out case was cracked and the motor did not run, this race motor no warranty is crap.

I have been VERY pleased with that new Max Power C5Q, broke in nicely, barely touched the needs in the 2 gallons I've put on it in a month...
i was gaining on 1st place at a local points when the motor flamed on me 2 times droping me down to 4th so i pulled off the track went in the put started it back up and gave it its last run for costing me the race.
Rocco, how would you compare it to a P5XS? Ive been using that for a while now and its good and all, but our winter series is about to start and guys like Maifield and Fischer are in it so I need more than just a P5
