The weight quoted without body seems about right. My 8ight comes in at 7 lbs 4 ounces with a regular NiMh battery & no fuel, but I did add some insulation material around the throttle servo and fuel tank. Get rid of the insulation and aluminum shock towers and you come to about the same weight, maybe a hair less.
It's always nice to have a lighter car, but I don't feel that weight is all that significant in 1/8 nitro buggies. I'd rather have a car that's 3-4 ounces heavier, but able to finish, as opposed to a car that sacrifices durability and/or reliability to save weight. That seems to be what AE tried to do with the RC8, and it cost them a few wins.
Thankfully, Xray parts quality is infinitely higher, so I watch this thread with interest.
Rocco, before the 808 came out many team drivers were running a revised rear end with shorter arms and wider pivots. Could Xray be convinced to produce these for guys that plan to continue running the EC?

Nice to hear there's plenty of R&D being invested into the 808, certainly one buggy to keep an eye on .
What time frames have been specified for testing and R&D. The April release date sounds a little optimistic judging by the comments within this thread.

Reason: spelling....

This is actually the first inquiry I've had on these parts! These pieces were machined from stock pieces, they weren't new molds, so I seriously doubt they will be available as option pieces. I kept running the stock arms on my car because I liked them better too...

I really wish I could, but FedEx screwed up with the pickup at the hotel in vegas and my stuff didn't get shipped out from there until Thursday...

Everything we've heard from XRAY is the cars will be on time. A number of the team drivers around the world have the cars and have been running them weekly to get the last couple tweaks to what theyre going to put in the box ironed out. But yeah, like I said, they should be on time in the first couple weeks of April!
Thats ON AVERAGE 3 seconds a lap faster. Interestingly his fast lap was 35.18 while his avg was 39.69.
On AVG lap times between 2nd and 3rd were 2.7 seconds apart. It doesnt seem as if the racers were as close as we see with the major US players.

The only pictures I've found are of the prototype body Juraj brought for us at the silver state race.
