I drove my M8 for the first time today and it has really impressed me! It's a very nice buggy to drive and much more predictable than the previous 2 versions. It still has the trademark turn in of the M1 but the rear is much more planted when applying the power and only came round when one of the front wheels hooked into a rutt.

I've noticed that the rear upper links have limited adjustment with the supplied turnbuckles. They need to be longer as they pull out of the ball ends when using the longer link setting.

I'm not sure about the durability of the supplied wing as i destroyed it on my 3rd run (a major balls up of a jump landing and it's now in 2 pieces)

The only other breakage was the servo saver bellcrank, after a head on collision with a tire after getting crossed up launchin off a big triple

Apart from the affore mentioned issues, which i put down to abuse, the M8 is very capable and a solid performer...

more pics to come when i upload them from my camera!

Default M1B Roller/Parts Wanted

I posted a thread in the Wanted section and have seen no replies. I am looking for alot of M1B/Turbo parts for spares. I would actually love to have another Roller. I purchased what TMizzle had listed about a month or so ago and I was quite impressed with the handling and flight charactersitics of the buggy. I would love to hear what rollers or parts some of you may have to offer. I'm sure there are alot of you that are purchasing the new M8 kits, maybe you could sell off your leftovers to me. So far all I have broken is the rear wing, twice. Most likely the rear gearbox will be next. If I cannot find any parts or rollers I will sell everything that I have. PM with any questions---Thanks

I'm keeping my M1B for spares as most of it is compatable with the M8.

For team magic spares in the U.S. check out http://www.wolfhobbies.com
they have the full range.... if you can, you want to pick up turbo parts as they are stronger!

After race day on sunday, all i can say is WOW... This thing is fast.... After a saturday test session, i found that the stock set-up was a very good starting point and only made some subtle changes... It's working well so far!

Good job Lowey.
I too had my first race with the TURBO just a couple of weeks ago. Very impressed.
I ended up lengthening the wheelbase by 6mm (at least !!)

This seamed to really settle down the rear end.

What would I need to get to have the same rear end as the M8 ?

Regards,

British Menace

Any possibility of getting a list of part numbers for the items needed to upgrade a M1B to M8 spec ???
Dont see it practical to get Turbo parts for my M1B if the M8 is based on teh same platform.

To bring the M1 up to M8 spec you will need:

rear tower #560242
rear tower brace #560243
rear upper link set #560248
rear chassis stiffner set #560264
adjustable brake linkage set #560570
front tower#560110
front tower brace #560254
front C hubs #560263
front hinge pin plates #560259, #560261
front hinge pin adjuster set #560260

The brake parts are optional but they allow for more adjustment to brake bias and give over-all better brake perfomance.

The use of the hinge pin plates requires longer front CVD's but i can't find a part# however the length is 128.8mm if that helps

Also the M1 body will need to be trimmed to clear the new rear tower and the mounting hole relocated... The M8 body shell is Part# 560241

Hope this helps!
