VP Pro Tires testing in Venezuela

Well guys, just came back from Venezuela, and here it is a pool of pictures i have.

One interesting thing to comment, its the fact that i received one day before flying for the event a good pack of tires from VP PRO in order to be tested on the southamerican market, so i, the colombian driver who went to Venezuela with me and a top venezuelan driver, tested and used VP PRO tires with great success (Venezuelan driver testing VP PRO tires and clutches got 2nd place on 60 minutes Buggy A-Main).

We got a B-Main 6th place, A-Main 8th place (me, due to spur breaking) and A-Main 2nd place.

Here you have the pics (not all, i have over 200 pics lol!!) and at the end, my setup, opinions or questions welcome !! :

Very nice results, and you did a good job of describing them. Great pics, nice track, and of course the countryside around Caracas is beautiful. The mountains in the background give the track a little something extra I think. :)

I was there in 1999, and was a little uncomfortable... it didn't seem like Americans were very welcome (or very safe) there. :( Maybe someday that will change... I'd like to visit there again someday.

I have withdrawn my statement and i guess we must let people learn the hard way .

whats with your airfilter, why does it stick out like 2 inches further than mine...

and what would happen if you sucked up a bunch of exhaust fumes (smoke) through your carb?

Good product for the street guy and basher but not good for the serious racer .cheap in price yes but horrible in quality .

Yes great clutch bells we can see how good they are by the pictures you have put up .also the wing is doing a great job making the buggy nose dive .

example of a wing that works is below and this is with an RTR Buggy

just my two cents worth

Why you usually talk dirt about any other product than yours ?

1st. How you say "product just for bashers" ?, top venezuelan drivers were testing the product and they raced the tires very hard on couple HARD racing condition events, and on this last event one of this drivers got 2nd position on A-Main with an excellent grip and low wear rate. Not single driver who tested the tires were PUSHED TO USE THEM, they tested them against known brands and decided to race VP, in fact i dont have any commercial relation with VP and traveled with VP PRO Tires on my bag along with other brands on tires for testing one against other on that track.

2nd. A good example of your ignorance its the fact that you talk dirt about the clutch bell, man, the clutchbell its an OFNA NARROW 13T one. Only brand of bells i always use.

3rd. Wing performance. The wing performed GREAT, couple of jumps on that track NEEDED a nose-down attitude in order to take the next section in a good way, and other couple of jumps had "trickle zones" where 50% of the jump send you level and 50% of the side of the jump send you nose down attitude.

4th. Lucky me never mentiones the VP PRO clutches, and for your information, 2nd position at the A-Main used VP PRO clutches shoes and springs, with excellent results.

PLEASE, try to not talk bad about something that YOU DONT KNOW, at least you would make the effort of contacting people that WAS THERE AT THE EVENT and ask details before trash products away.

Just my $ .002, specially when I WAS THERE

Im sponsored by Power Save Racing so i use Power Save Racing airfilters on my Jammin Buggy. My friend's Hyper 8.5 was using Power Save Racing filters too.

I dont understand your other question (2nd one).

man please just stop trash talking and down playing other Co. products!!!

i also have been testing the VP PRO tires here in the US, and i am very pleased with the results...they seemed to have extremely good side bite and massive forward traction combined with great wear and life span...i plan to run the VP tires as much as possible in the 08 season, but will not restrict myself to just the VP tire...

cya,

why with the airfilter, what does that improve?

my 2nd question was: the air filter is supposed to breathe in air right? well what if it breathed in A LOT of smoke? im just curious, is that bad for the engine or anything?

Dear Jason

we are not bashing anyones products were are just stating facts of what we have seen and tested thats all .

It's up to the public after that to make there own mind up thats all im saying .

I understand that you are sponsored by whoever and that you are running that product and you can't say anything bad about it .But you have to understand its freedom of speech and im just stating true facts of what we have seen and tested thats all nothing more.we are true believers of the truth and not in the business of giving people false hope or information or ripping them off with poor quality products .

Second of all what do you want someone to say when you see a clutch bell broken and a buggy nose diving over every jump in the photos ???the photos dont do the product justice .

take care my friend and we hope you do well .I guess people have to learn the hard way .Next time ill keep my mouth shut and my opinions to myself thats for sure

regards Angelo

Thats a S type filter hose. Hobao makes something similar. Its just designed to move the filter right above the battery cover, no performance gain. I use the same thing on my X1-cr. I felt the stock filter tube puts the filter in a tight spot with the body on. Some people like it some people dont.:)

Shouldnt have any problems with the exhaust fumes of your engine going back in thru the filter. In the first place though it shouldnt be doing that with the stinger of your pipe pointing away from the car.

Tabushi bad luck with the clutch bell man! I had the same thing happen to me but In my case I think the clutch bell was well beyond its usable life and I should of changed it already haha.

Tabushi 02-01-2008 05:00 AM

Angelo,

Im not sponsored by VP PRO so i can say the good and bads about their products.

I dont know if you race, but if you do, you may know that not always a leveled flight its the best, specially when you have to land-and-turn on very steep jumps, here you have couple pics of other racers on the Venezuelan event, none of them with VP PRO wings, so ... do proline, ofna, associated and others wings sucks too ? :
