It looks like they are trying to center things a whole lot more, that would explain the smaller spur gear too. Nitro motors in the past few years had really taken off so people were getting faster lap times w/out actually faster buggies, just more adapt to the new power. Now people are used to the power & want to see faster lap times out of new buggies. I would expect to see this ultra light buggy trend continue w/ xray after seeing losi,ae, & hb release lighter buggies.

The proto is very Losi-esque, dare I call it a Slosi ( Slovakian Losi) ?

I love my Losi right now, but the plastics are a bit soft (but also why it handles so nice) Either way, its most likely that an Xray is my next replacement vehicle when I want to try a new chassis out.

This is exciting news! I was wondering what my next car was going to be after my Losi. I loved my XB8 more than any other nitro car out on the market, and now that I see this one, I'll have to wait. I was going to go with the new O'donnel buggy, but I'll put that off for now.

Is it still going to be called an XB8? It seems to be the biggest departure from the previous design, that I think a new name is warranted.

There's a pic on xray's homepage. It doesn't look like they went with the wide rear arm setup, but I did notice there isn't a front chassis brace, just a post that goes straight down from the cf plate. So the servo is closer to the center line, but might there be a 4mm chassis too? And the larger shocks/cf shock towers.
