First, I'll just say that anyone that can get faster by shedding a few grams off the head has my respect, because most just aren't that good.
Secondly, I'm not a fan of replacing the stock head of any engine to a larger/better cooling one. Unless there is a real problem of the engine running hot (there are but a few that need an upgrade) replacing the head isn't a good idea. An aftermarket head that is too large will over cool the engine and not allow it to run at proper temps without leaning it out considerably, which is of course, even worse.
All of the race motors (off road) that I've seen in the last few years have not had a need for replacement. The only thing I've witnessed is breaking off fins which can warrant a replacement.

I use alternate cooling heads as a tuning tool. The stock ones work well for pretty much all temps, but when we race outside and the temps are in the high 90s into the 100s, I change the cooling head to an aftermarket one that helps in dissipating the heat better.
Other than that, I stick to the stocker....

The Nova head was about 1.5oz heavier than my stock JPX head-taller too. I machined it on my lathe down to 84 grams(same as stock JPX). I love it. Gas mileage so much better and woke the performance up. I leaned the hsn about 3/4. Temps 205-215 always. Giggity giggity

A main doesnt have the b-mods head. Does anyone have a link to one?
