Default Mach 427 inna CRT fitment issues

I was lead to believe that the RTR mounts would allow me to use a mach 427 roto start engine.
They are still not tall enough and teh rotostart backplate is not allowing it to sit flush.
What now?

shim the mount or the engine up with washers.

I am concerned about shimming because of teh space and teh amount of stress on the engine mount area. Anybody know if ofn40674 the Mutilator engine mounts would work?

You can get flat aluminum at home depot or lowes in different thickness. How much do you have to go up? I've cut my own shims a few times, just takes a couple bucks and some time. A dremel helps. Wear safety glasses.

You need the rtr chassis and the mounts. the chassis has a cut out for the roto start to drop down into.

but shimming will work if you have to go that route

I bought the RTR mounts for my CRT pro before I bought a non pull start motor. It will work. Get the RTR mounts.

Likewise, but the 427 rotostart plate sticks down enough where it interferes and the mounts need to be 1/8" or a bit more taller. I hope teh mutilator rtr mounts will work

I just ordered this http://www.amainhobbies.com/index.ph...?&I=LXCVY7&P=X looking at the measurements, it should work.
I do NOT want to have to lug around 2 rotostarts. I would sooner go starter box that have 2 different rotostarts.
If that doesnt work, I will have a machine shop make me a spacer
