This dyno chart is off the 9853 and 1005 pipes on a modified motor. This engine has timing changes etc. That will definatly change the way a pipe responds to an engine. I should have a JP-3 on this engine for a test soon.

Would you consider comparing it to a stock Vspec & 2060 for a baseline and also the 2060 on the modded motor for a better idea of what the mod has done?

So the other question is, has anyone modded one of those and retested it?

not yet no..... I actually would speculate the Speed would produce less power..the weighted crank takes some power out of the motor, but replaces it with a smoother windup...almost like changing weights on a cars flywheel..anyways the timing on the V-Specs is already very advanced so OS has no room for timing changes really, the the speeds main advantage is the weighted crank and better internal coatings... But as for power the lighter cranked V-Spec is likely going to produce the bigger raw numbers..the speed's smoother powerband may make for a faster track machine due to traction and tractability,as the weighted crank will smooth the engine out quite a bit... Anyways this is my speculation, but untill its modded and tested its only my specualtion

The Febuary edition of XRC magazine " so the mag thats out in the stores and shops right now" has the OS Speed .21 and the OS .28 dyno sheet in there. They are testing both motors on the track and have a nice write up on them.

tuning skill or lack of tuning skill can make a huge difference in how a pipe will run FYI..........Obviously you are mistaken on this pipe on this motor sorry to say, maybe you had the wrong header, wrong head shims or wrong fuel or something.....The only issue I could see with this particular motor and pipe combo is it maybe makes too much power for using on a track... too much motor can make things hard to handle for less experienced drivers, so that maybe explains your issues with this pipe on this motor......... I am sure some other pipes could de-tune it to be more forgiving on the track...

I would have to say the Mugen 1005 is the best pipe going makes just about any motor scream well it did on my Nova +7BT and JP 8PT ive got her on me Ninja now and once again a screamer ill never go to another pipe again hands down the elite of all pipes

i dont have much of any tuning problems track side man, sorry to say it wasnt a tuning issue.

what is your background? where are you located and how many races has this engine seen with such pipe configurations? who drives for AB mods or who runs them here in the states? has this engine been proven other than some dyno graphs?
