I just weighed my car since some changes and its sitting at 7.2lbs 100% complete ready to race without fuel..... I've added some titanium screws, replaced all the nuts with plastic RPM nuts, lipo battery, all plastic arm holders but the front/rear.... we still have a few more tricks to do.

7lbs flat possible? o ya

Hey Andrew how ya going buddy

I normally run the Extra Hot Perri Perri sauce, but not many people can handle it. I can, makes it very good.. For the diffs i find adding some chicken (normally the leg) into the diff makes it perfect. About 2 grams of chicken in the rear diff, 4 in the center and 7 grams in the front...

Have done some more testing with setup and have found that the following
is working very well. Several team members are now using it and
loving it.

Here is the complete setup

Front:
10,000 diff oil (seems like allot but seems to work exceptionally)
35 weight Losi oil (maybe heavier in higher temps)
Nanda white (silver) Spring
6 hole 1.3mm Kyosho pistons
Middle hole on tower
Outer hole on arm
Middle hole on C-Hub block
Front upper arm as low as possible
1 down from max front kickup (for bumpy tracks go to full kickup)
20 degrees caster
ackerman in one hole from front
22mm ride height
limited droop (can not remember measurement will check it)

Centre:
6000 Diff oil
for the brakes i am using the new Nanda Brake Disc (about 5mm thick,
kind of same material as the Avid brakes) with the springs supplied (to
hold the pads apart) but am using Xray pads as they are quite thicker
and allow for more consistent braking

Rear:
1000 diff oil
30 weight losi
6 hole 1.3mm pistons
Nanda White (silver) springs
outside on arm
middle upper row on tower
3.5degrees rear toe
2.5 degrees anti squat
full short wheel base
camber link in bottom inside hole on upright
inside row one from bottom on tower
27mm ride height
limited droop

I have added Titanium screws and Titanium Turnbuckles. Using plastic rear uprights and also plastic rear toe plate and plastic front upper arm brace. Weighed the car at the event, with Tires and full tank of fuel it weight 3.4kgs... Working on some more light parts will let everyone know how it goes

It will only make you 0.05 quicker, so i would still beat you :P

Yeah man should be at SA. Loved it last time we were there, place we stayed at was right on the beach, 2 story apartment. Track was great too, made any changes to it?

Yeah FEMCA should be sweet, ya gotta come so i can beat ya again, see how close we can get the gap between us im aiming to be quicker still even if it is by 0.001

P.S I have a experimental Extra Extra Extra hot sauce, meant to be hottest stuff in the world. It must help

Our heats were rediculously close.Except for the one i won by heaps.

SA will be good, the track is looking a litte sorry at the moment because of the rainfall. It will be good for the state titles tho and there are a few changes.

You should beat me at FEMCA, its your bloody home track.

Cant wait for SA, i will break out my 0.00689 sec faster laps than yours

Albion park is my home track, i have raced at Liverpool twice this year thats all. Also complete new track for FEMCA, so it should be hard for me too

Pffft i will just do some extra fast laps, after competing at the worlds i should get better, and i will push for the 10 in S.A, so this way we both dont have to do pitstops

Hey Paul,

I haven't received the Truggy as of yet. But even if i had one i would most likely not of even built it yet as the World Champs are just around the corner. I was planing on entering the Truggy Nats, but the World Champs are on at the same time so unfortunately i will not be able to attend. But i do believe both Mark and Aaron Stringer should be running Truggy at the Nationals.

Remarks by Team Associated.

At Team Associated we strive to the maximum quality for our products. During the initial production we decided at Team Associated that although parts were OK we could raise the quality of these parts. During production the parts below are changed.
Part # Associated Part Description QTY Reason
BD5090 89025 arm (front upper L) 2 New material
BD5090-1 89025 arm (front upper R) 2 New material
BD5119 89025 arm (front lower R) 2 New material

Replacement part bags are intended for customers who received a RC8 from the first shipments of Factory Team vehicles. The replacement bags are available free of charge through Associated worldwide agents to the customers that received a RC8FT out of the first shipment.

For most parts, the parts look identical to the ones being replaced.

what i have always said in the past high end companies who have forgotten what quality is then run like a headless chooks to fix problems that needed fixing from the start. Not fixing the problems from the beggining with materials basically tells me Greed and who cares about the consumer we can sell heaps of parts.
Do it right from the beginning or dont do it at all as the consumer is the loser at the end of the day which is not right .

I pretty much agree on that. In fact when I look at the RC8 the term "factory team" is completly misleading. Since it's out, the car doesn't carry what the factory pilot use on there car. The car is sold as low price but need some work (and more money) to make it more reliable. That is a first for associated... I have a T4 FT i never ever need a single option part on it. This was a "made in USA" T4.
But this is how market work in RC, they keep some flaw on there product so they can sold option parts or later up to date kit.
No wonder why many LHS doesn't like Xray, They make car that work out of the box and are durable.

Yes, theres is an 09 spec kit, of the TQ sx8. The nanda version of it is available outside of north america. It may not have the same features as the 09 sx8. Check out the other thread.
