Default Savage XSS electronics

I just got a Savage XSS 4.6 kit. I have to build from scratch, which I can do but I am lacking servos for throttle/steering. I have a Futaba T2PH 2 channel radio system which is currently running a TT01 but I have a spare receiver for it, so I'm guessing I could just buy a new set of crystals for it and swap them out when i decide to drive each car? I would also need a set of high torque servos but have no clue how they would connect to the receiver...I am assuming the connectors are universal. Would it be a good idea to use the existing controller but buy separate servos or should I be looking at a whole new radio controller? (T2PH is the entry level radio system). Thanks for your help.
