TnT Hobbies Austin -- Video
First off from TnT is something thats getting popular in these parts. Running buggy's on a short tight course. The track was built for 1/10 scales but the 1/8 scalers kept asking to run there. They tried it out a few weeks back and now that class is bigger than the rest combined. I checked it out yesterday and while I figured it would be a wreck fest with little close racing I was wrong entirely. Sure there were more wrecks than usual but not that many. The racing was close and continuous. The lap times are so short its a great place to video. You have cars to film close up all the time.

Not sure the exact times
I think the lap times were in the 15 second range. Not sure I couldn't hear the PA that well from where I was filming. Everyone seems to love doing it. I know when they first started talking about it there was a lot of naysayers me included but it seems to work fine and the people racing have a blast. And they run on Sunday so you can go race off-road on a big track on Sat and still have that to do on Sunday.

Cool video. Never seen a short track that short. Seemed to work well though. Keep up the good work Griz!

Yea its short :)
To tell the truth when I heard they were doing this I figured it would be a wreck fest and not much of a race. But not so. There were more off course excursions I would have to say but most of these guys are sportsman class drivers. Seems to me practicing on a course that short and tight would help you with throttle control and learning not to over drive the track. Last year it was sprint cars. All you heard was oval oval oval This year its this stuff looks like. The novelty will wear off eventually I suspect. But for someone shooting video its great. Action everywhere. And its not that far across so you can get any shot easy. The cars being slower than on a regular track helps a lot too. Much easier to follow if they are just a tad slower than normal.

Another one
I didn't feel like capturing any more video today. Sooo boring But I had enough buggy footage left over to cut another one from that.

thanks for another great vid griz!
How long did it take that tiny whoops section to become another straight? lol
I bet the 1:10 guys are happy to come back to their track and find a rut fest from the buggies

It holds up pretty good
They rebuild it every week. Guys that race there do the majority of the work each week. I guess that was part of the deal. I just finished up the 2-wd a-main I'll have it up later today.

MOST OF THE 1/10 GUYS RUN BUGGY AND DONT SAY MUCH. LIKE GRIZ SAID I DO A LOT OF WORK ON THE TRACK WEEKLY TO HELP KEEP IT SMOOTH. IT HAS BEEN A LITTLE TOUGHER WITH THE BUGGYS BUT WE MANAGE.

Yea, we love our little track!! It is a lot of fun and this weekend we are going to have a 30 minute A-main running 14 second lap times. Can you say 100 plus laps? The guy with the Mugen and GO engine is Ron Simpson. I also run a Mugen with GO 5port, but was not there Sunday. We love our GO motors very much and plan on running them for the 08 season.
Oh, and Jason. Nice work! Your track looks like a lot of fun too!!!
