Mach 427 or XTM 24.7 Pro for truggy?

Just curious if anyone has actual experience with both of these? I currently have the mach, but can get the xtm, wondering if it would be worth it?

Opinions on the power, fuel economy and power band comparisons would be appreciated.

i have had both motors and i woulld stick with the mach because it has better
fuel econimy and is easyer to tune for me
if u want to upgrade go to a o.s. or a novarossi

just my opinion

good luck
cheers

Stay away from the 24.7. Not enough torque to really push a truggy. The power band between the 2 engines is quite substantial. I've run both. I used to run an XTM buggy and Mammoth st with the 24.7 and it just doesn't quite cut it. But, the mach has plenty of power. Go drive a Losi 8T and see what I mean.

Wow is all I can say. I was looking at x dyno figures, and they showed the xtm with higher numbers, I figured maybe the numbers were off. I am happy with the mach, just have a chance to get the xtm really cheap, but maybe I will pass.

How does the Mach have better fuel economy if they are basically the same engine except for the bore?

the 24.7 pro is a considerd a .25 with stated 2.8hp and the mach is a 26 with 7 ports and stated at over 3 hp. if anything the 24.7 pro would give better economy than the mach and i do have both one is in the lst2 and the other is in the savage with a 18 cb. the 24.7 is just as easy to tune as the mach and keeps a tune all day long. i was going to get another from hobby people but they dont sell it any more just the regular 24.7 it was going in my truggy to save weight.

I was running the Mach 427 in my MBX5T and it was sweet. I own 2 of them and now i'm running the Axial .28 in my truggy and one of the 427;s in my MBX5R buggy. If your looking for another engine I have one that i'm not using if your interested? Shoot me an email at [email protected] and i'll hook you up with a good deal. Oh, it is for sale on the site as well.

Already running the mach in my mugen lol, but I came across an xtm cheap, didn't know if it would be any better in any way than the mach.
